The Eaton 93E UPS delivers simply effective power protection for ever-expanding loads in today’s space- constrained data centres. Facilitating a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) through a combination of energy- efficiency, high reliability and a compact footprint the 93E is an ideal solution for small - to medium - sized data centres and other applications desiring highly reliable power protection.

Energy-efficient design

With a transformer-free design and sophisticated sensing and control circuitry the 93E is capable of achieving up to a 99% efficiency rating, making it one of the most energy efficient UPSs in its class and it still provides maximum load protection. Unlike most high efficiency UPSs, the 93E:

  • Provides surge suppression for the load
  • Detects the location of faults (utility or load) and takes the appropriate action
  • Switches to double-conversion operation in less than 4ms

High system efficiency reduces utility cost, extends battery run times and ensures cooler operating conditions.

Real compatibility
  • Active power factor correction (PFC) provides 0.99 input power factor and <5% ITHD, thus eliminating interference with other critical equipment in the same network and enhancing compatibility with generators. The 93E is optimised for protecting modern 0.9 p.f. rated IT equipment without the need to oversize.
True reliability
  • Patented Powerware Hot Sync® technology makes it possible to parallel up to four UPSs to increase availability or add capacity. The technology enables load sharing without any communication line, thus eliminating single point of failure.
Compact & serviceable design

Small footprint occupies minimal floor space:

Launched in 2007, the reliability of the Power Xpert 9395 has been proven with installations totalling no less than 5 GVA globally. Our UPS are installed in all the major datacentre hubs in APAC and around the world.

Now the new 9395P uses the experience gained from multiple installations for a huge variety of applications, to create a UPS that is even more:

More protection, more choice

The addition of the Power Xpert 9395P to the Eaton UPS range means there is now an Eaton UPS to meet most large mission critical application requirements, with the highest possible energy efficiency. The power rating of the 9395P is from 250 kW to 1200 kW. The rated real power of 300, 600 and 900 kVA models can be delivered with 0,9 pf which means that the typical loads can be fed without oversizing the UPS.

More flexibility

Eaton System Bypass Module (SBM)

In addition to its distributed bypass system design, the Eaton SBM provides extra flexibility and a range of alternatives for your system design, by supporting centralised multi-module paralleled 9395P systems. Available in 2000 A, 2500 A, 3200 A, 4000 A and 5000 A ratings as standard, the SBM includes a continuous-duty centralised static switch, backfeed protection device and centralised bypass systems.

Lower energy use

Losses and energy consumption are reduced, due to the extremely high level of double conversion efficiency (up to 96.3%) provided by the 9395P. The 9395P completely isolates output power from all input power anomalies, and delivers 100% conditioned, perfect sine-wave output, even during severe power disturbance.

Variable Module Management System (VMMS)

Helps you achieve high efficiency even when UPS load levels are low – typical for redundant UPS systems. VMMS can optimise the load levels of power modules in a single UPS or in parallel UPS systems, by suspending extra UPS capacity. This means not only greater efficiency at lower load levels, but optimum efficiency at all load levels, as illustrated below, whilst enhancing UPS reliability and longevity.

99% efficiency - Energy Saver System (ESS)

Improves the 93PR efficiency levels to 99%, by suspending the power modules when power conditioning is not required. The power is fed through the static bypass switch, and in the event of exceeding pre-set input limits the UPS is ready to switch to double-conversion mode in under two milliseconds. In addition to extremely low losses, the ESS mode provides filtering against fast low-energy transients. It is simply the most advanced, most reliable, fastest-reacting energy-saver architecture available. In addition to saving energy, this technology enhances the reliability of the system by reducing electrical stress in the power electronic components, extending the UPS life time and thus reducing total cost of ownership.

Optimised double conversion efficiency - Variable Module Management System (VMMS)

For applications where ESS may not be optimal, for example with very low quality mains, VMMS technology includes automatic variable power module management. The system automatically suspends and engages modules as appropriate, to optimise efficiency both at UPS and system level. VMMS helps you achieve high efficiency even when UPS load levels are low – typical for redundant UPS systems. VMMS can optimise the load levels of power modules in a single 93PR UPS or in parallel systems, by suspending extra UPS capacity. This means not only greater efficiency at lower load levels, but optimum efficiency at all load levels.

Hot swappable and hot scalable

Due its modular design, a 93PR power module can be replaced or added while another module continues protecting the load. This eliminates the need to go to bypass for module replacement or upgrading (MTTR: 0 minutes). Replacement and upgrade (N+1) operations typically take less than 10 minutes.
